THE CLIENT by John Grisham is an action, suspense novel about boy who learned to much from a Mafia lawyer. Mark is an eleven-year-old boy who is growing up in a trailer home with his mom Diane, and his nine-year-old brother Ricky. In The Client, there are two antagonists, Roy Foltrigg, and Barry "the Blade" Muldanno. However, neither of them have a major impact on the plot. Most of their underlings take care of the business. Barry was your stereotypical Mafia man who made no impact until the ending. The beginning of Grisham's "The Client" is very plausible and exciting. He creates a horrifying, nightmarish scenario of violence and desperation for one precocious 11 year old boy and his brother. But can a precocious 11 year old have the maturity of a fearless seasoned man?.
